WE R PUNKS is inspired by freedom tech. Using technology as a tool that works for us, not against us. This song looks at 3 tech freedom movements: cypherpunk( willpowerstudios.com/cypherpunk ), solarpunk and lunarpunk. Cypherpunk looks at cryptography and privacy. Solarpunk looks at the sci-fi dystopian cyberpunk movements and says that we are going to create an Utopia out in nature with benevolent tech instead. Lunarpunk looks at privacy and anonimity as the internet becomes locked down as a way to control every human.
As a creative technologist, I make digital and electronic tools for art, music, human expression and connection in ways that were never possible before. I use mostly free open source software (FOSS), peer to peer communication, Monero, decentralized networks... I do this for privacy and freedom. I rarely meet people who understand this, although it is simple to understand. This is why I made this album. On top of that, it is a priority if we are to not be enslaved by the system, smart cities, CBDC's, A.I. surveillance and all the other dystopian plans they have for humanity.
